What Muninn Counts

The 2026 Job Search in Numbers

Every application, counted. Even the silent ones.

An engineer tracked every step of his 2026 job search and published where the applications actually went. This is the same idea, run out of Salt Lake City and counted by a raven: applications since May, and the whole honest funnel.

The Funnel

Where 95 applications actually went.

Where They Went

Every application crossed a platform. Here is the toll each one collected.

Where They Stand

Silence is also a status. It is most of them.

The Follow-Up Ledger

The standing rule: exactly one follow-up, seven days after each application, and only where a real person or a real address exists to receive it. No guessed emails, no spray.

Parked, Not Sent

Four more never left the desk. Three are essay-gated: the form demands answers in his own words, and those do not get written by committee.

The Honest Count

Ninety-five applications have gone out since May. Thirteen came back with anything at all: two rejections, one under consideration, one screen, and nine that were at least opened and viewed. The other eighty-two are silence, and the silence is recorded here with the same care as the answers, because a count that only keeps the good news is not a count.

Nothing on this page is estimated or rounded into a story. It is read live from the same MySQL database that takes bookings for Eco Moving Utah, one row per application, because that was the database at hand and a raven uses the ledger he has. When the numbers change, this page changes.

The work now is the follow-ups and the next batch. Muninn counts. The count continues.
